Two New Parks

In this month's Ammon Newsletter, Mayor Coletti announced the addition of two new parks to the City of Ammon. These parks had been owned and maintained by other entities, but were acquired this summer by the City of Ammon.

While Woodland Hills park, on the corner of Ammon and 49th, as been a work in progress for many years, the city recently acquired the baseball fields to the north of the park. This new addition makes the park a whopping 23 acres, and the largest park in Ammon! Recent updates to this park include new playground equipment, a Little Free Library, paved parking, and soon an additional entrance off of Ammon Road, making the park and the adjoining community much more accessible to the pubic.

The other park the city added to its repertoire this summer was donated by Integra Holdings LLLP. It is a fully developed park located in the Hawks Landing Subdivision on East Sunnyside Road. It currently boasts a large picnic shelter, playground equipment, a sledding hill, established trees, and a large open area for field sports. The city will begin management of this park in 2022. The acquisition of this park brings the total number of parks managed by the city to 11.

Mayor Coletti also said that they hope to begin improvements on Sandcreek Park (behind Cabela's) next year.
